וַיִּרְא֣וּ אַנְשֵֽׁי־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר־בְּעֵ֨בֶר הָעֵ֜מֶק וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ בְּעֵ֣בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֗ן כִּֽי־נָ֙סוּ֙ אַנְשֵׁ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְכִי־מֵ֖תוּ שָׁא֣וּל וּבָנָ֑יו וַיַּעַזְב֤וּ אֶת־הֶֽעָרִים֙ וַיָּנֻ֔סוּ וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַיֵּֽשְׁב֖וּ בָּהֶֽן׃ (ס)
האָבן געזען די מענער פֿון ישׂראל װאָס אױף יענער זײַט טאָל, און װאָס אױף יענער זײַט ירדן, אַז די מענער פֿון ישׂראל זײַנען אַנטלאָפֿן, און שָאול און זײַנע זין זײַנען טױט, און זײ האָבן פֿאַרלאָזן זײערע שטעט, און זײַנען אַנטלאָפֿן. און די פּלשתּים זײַנען געקומען, און האָבן זיך באַזעצט אין זײ.
